Mark
21 QCMTM Sensor
|
 |
The Mark 21 QCM is based on the award
winning Mark 8 QCM design. If you
have been a long-time customer of ours,
you may recall that in 1975 we won an
award for One of the 100 Most -
Significant New Technical Products of the
Year for a small QCM known as the MK8
QCM. The MK21 is a long awaited
update to that excellent design using
today's technology. As is the case with
the Mark 20 TQCM, the Mark 21 is
available in a wide variety of
frequencies; 10, 15, 25, and 50 MHz
(other frequencies available upon
request) It is quite small (10.15mm
Dia. or 0.401" Dia.) and light
weight (4.7 grams). Unlike it's
larger siblings the TQCMs, it is
passively cooled and requires a coolant
to lower the temperature.
Upon
even cursory examination by an
experienced QCM user, major
design differences will be
obvious.
- No heater is present.
Raising and lowering an
attached heat sink will
be the temperature
control of the QCM.
- The crystals are held in
position by springs,
instead of the customary
crystal pack.
- The in-situ electronics
package (oscillator/mixer
hybrid) forms the rear
connector for the sensor.
- The cover is twelve
sided, instead of
cylindrical.
